Four emerging Korean music groups will be performing at the K-pop Night Out concert on the sidelines of MIDEM, one of the world’s biggest music tradeshows, in Cannes, France this week.
The four are: The Barberettes, a retro girl group; Loro’s, a modern rock band; Coreyah, a Korean classical music gukak ensemble; and Rock ‘N’ Roll Radio, a rock band.
Representing Korean music in their respective genres, they will be performing for about three hours on June 6 at the Palais des Festivals venue, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency.
Loro’s will be kicking off the K-pop concert with rock songs including “Undercurrent” and “Babel,” followed by The Barberettes’ “Little Gals” and “Kimchi,” Coreyah’s “Walk into the Sea” and Rock ’N’ Roll Radio’s “One Week” and “Red Moon.”

The ministry and KOCCA will also hold business meetings with European record labels and distributors at an event called “Meet the Country: Korea,” and hopefully seal deals at the 2015 MIDEM, which will be held from June 5 to 8.
“We will be holding business events to promote and help local musicians go abroad,” said the KOCCA.
The country’s K-pop Night Out concert began at the South by Southwest music festival in the U.S. in March, then at the Canadian Music Week last month.
