The Korean Instagram users with the most number of followers are, rather unsurprisingly, K-pop stars. The following are the top Instagram users with their accounts and the number of followers each one has.

1. G-Dragon @xxxibgdrgn (Big Bang) 4.4M

Leader of YG Entertainment boy band Big Bang, G-Dragon, also a solo artist, is drawing a growing number of followers with photos reflecting his fashion sense.

2. Chanyeol @real__pcy (EXO) and Taeyeon @taeyeon_ss (SNSD) 4M

  
EXO’s Chanyeol and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, both under SM Entertainment, share second place with 4 million Instagram followers each. Chanyeol’s group EXO, a 10-member boy band, released “Exodus” in March 2015.

Girls’ Generation, to which Taeyeon belongs, will release a new album in June. Her Instagram account shows her personal interests in coloring books and drawing.

3. Sehun, @oohsehun (EXO) 3.7M

After Sehun of EXO “liked” a photo of a particular high-end watch on social media, he ended up receiving it for his birthday in April from fans, sparking controversy. His fans are also setting up a man-made forest in Seoul to celebrate his birthday in 2015.

4. Baekhyun @baekhyunee_exo (EXO) 3.4M

  

EXO’s Baekhyun, three years junior to his star girlfriend Taeyeon, boasts a huge following on Instagram, even though he has uploaded just 28 photos so far. 

5. Tao @hztttao (EXO) and Luhan @7_luhan_m (ex-EXO) 3.3M

EXO’s Tao and ex-EXO member Luhan ranked at a similar level. Tao was at the center of a dispute in April when his father wrote a lengthy open letter to SM Entertainment on Chinese social media Weibo.

Luhan defected from the band last year. Along with Kris, who also left EXO, Luhan is in a legal battle with SM, while continuing his solo activities in China.

6. Kris @galaxy_fanfan (ex-EXO) 2.8M

Kris, a former member of EXO, is now an actor in his home country, China. The star has posted just 21 photos on Instagram, but his number of followers is impressive. 


7. Sandara Park @daraxxi (2NE1) and Donghae @leedonghae (Super Junior) 2.5M

Sandara Park, a member of YG’s girl group 2NE1, has a wide fan-base in Southeast Asia and Korea.

Donghae, a member of the Super Junior’s subunit D&E, is set to serve in the conscripted police force as part of Korea’s mandatory military service. 

8. Lay @zyxzjs (EXO) and Taeyang @__youngbae__ (Big Bang) 2.4M

Chinese EXO member Lay acted alongside Zhang Ziyi for the upcoming film “The Baby from Universe.” Lay is inactive on Instagram after deleting all his photos in April. He has two photos but still boasts 2.4 million followers waiting for his updates.

Taeyang, whose real name is Dong Young-bae, gained international fame with his 2010 release, “Wedding Dress.” 

9. CL @chaelincl (2NE1) and Heechul @kimheenim (Super Junior) 2.3M

CL, the leader of 2NE1, is gearing up for her solo debut in America under star manager Scooter Braun.

Heechul of 13-member Super Junior, is one of the four who have completed their compulsory military service. He makes regular appearances on Korean television shows.

10. Tiffany @xolovestephi (SNSD) and Suzy @skuukzky (MissA) 1.8M

Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany is a host of the new fashion TV program “Heart-a-Tag,” and is well-known for her delicate sense of style.

Miss A’s Suzy is one of Korea’s most sought-after celebrities. She made big headlines in April when she confirmed she was dating actor Lee Min-ho.
