SKT helps SMEs foray into global market
Korean start-ups gain offers for partnerships at tech trade fair

From operation of research labs to financial support for small and medium-sized firms, SK Telecom has been pouring its resources into supporting SMEs.
Some Korean start-ups, which participated in the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona earlier this month with the help of the telecom firm, have been receiving calls for business partnerships in the global markets.
ISL Korea, which produces Bignote, a smart whiteboard solution consisting of a digital pen and a projector, is a beneficiary of the telecom giant’s initiative for the venture firms.
ISL Korea CEO Kwon Dol is to leave for Turkey on Monday to meet with a major electronics-maker there to discuss a future partnership.

“Even though there are more processes to make final supply deals, it is very encouraging to have a chance to tap into the global markets,” he said.
NanoLambda, a developer of spectrometer, is also in talks with global companies after it had displayed its products at SK Telecom’s booth at the MWC.
“With the increasing interest in the Internet of Things, NanoLambda’s products received quite a bit of attention at the MWC, and SKT’s support gave the firm an opportunity to introduce the company’s products to global firms such as Huawei, IBM, Accenture and Bosch,” said Choi Byung-il, the chief of the NanoLambda.
Emergency communications network solution developer CyberTelbridge also aims to expand its businesses into global markets. It already signed partnership deals with Motorola and Nokia to supply the firm’s Long Term Evolution-based IP push for voice call solutions, enabling users to call 1,000 people at the same time and have video calls with multiple users.
