Local coffee franchise Ediya Coffee ranked first in overall consumer satisfaction, according to survey results released Sunday.

The survey, by the Korea Consumer Agency, focused on the nation’s seven largest coffee chains and was based on interviews with 999 coffee chain customers.

Ediya Coffee scored highest in overall satisfaction with 3.75 out of 5 points, followed by Starbucks and Holly’s Coffee, both with 3.74 points. Next came Caffe Bene (3.7 points), Angel-in-us (3.69), and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Tom n Toms Coffee (both with 3.64 points).

Starbucks scored highest in taste, store accessibility, customer service and “sensitivity experience.” But it ranked lowest in terms of “price appropriateness.”

Ediya placed first overall thanks to having the highest score in the “price appropriateness” category, as there was a significant score gap (Ediya: 3.54, Starbucks: 2.4) compared to other categories, such as “taste” (Starbucks: 3.68, Ediya: 3.38).

Meanwhile, Holly’s Coffee received the highest score in terms of “store convenience,” and Angel-in-us and Caffe Bene were first in “additional benefits” and “menu variety,” respectively.
