South Korean President Park Geun-hye arrived in Australia on Friday for a weekend summit of the Group of 20 advanced and emerging economies and a series of bilateral meetings with other leaders.

   The Group of 20 summit, set for Saturday and Sunday in Brisbane, brings together U.S. President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other top world leaders.

   The summit's wide-ranging agenda includes anti-corruption, development and trade.

   The G-20 economies represent about two-thirds of the world's population, 85 percent of global gross domestic product and over 75 percent of global trade.

   On its sidelines, Park plans to hold a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to discuss practical ways to expand the two countries' ties through construction and infrastructure projects, her office said.

   Park's office also said Park could meet with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key in Brisbane.

   On Thursday, Park made a surprise offer to hold a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

   She did not give any specific time frame for the proposed summit, but said it could come following a meeting of their foreign ministers in the near future. The Asian powers last held a summit in Beijing in May 2012.  (Yonhap)
