Lee Na-young of South Korea won the gold medal in the women’s bowling all-events competition at the Asian Games on Tuesday, becoming the country’s first triple-gold winner at the ongoing Asiad.

The 28-year-old Lee scored 5,132 points in the individual event and the duo, triple and five-member team competitions combined in Anyang, east of the Asiad host city of Incheon, to reach the top of the podium.

The individual winner was determined based upon the aggregate points each athlete earned from the aforementioned four competitions.

It is the fourth consecutive time that a South Korean bowler claimed the first podium finish in the all-event discipline.


Kim Bo-mi wins soft tennis gold

South Korea’s Kim Bo-mi captured the women’s singles soft tennis gold medal at the Asian Games on Tuesday, for the country’s second soft tennis title of the day.

Kim defeated Chen Hui of China 4-1 at Yeorumul Tennis Courts’ Show Court.

South Korea is hoping to win five gold medals in soft tennis in Incheon.

Soft tennis is played with softer rubber balls, and the scoring is different from regular tennis.

Park Sung-bin bags gold in sailing

South Korea’s Park Sung-bin won gold in the men’s optimist sailing event at the Incheon Asian Games Tuesday, becoming the country’s youngest gold medalist.

Park received 16 penalties in 11 races, outpacing Malaysia’s Muhammad Dhiauddin Bin Rozaini with 31 penalties.

The 13-year-old Park is the youngest gold medalist in the country’s 831-member delegation.
