Cheil Industries, an affiliate of Samsung Group, unveiled on Tuesday the updated version of Rogatis, its high-end men’s suit line, adopting smart solutions for the first time in the local fashion industry.
“Rogatis, whose target customers are businessmen aged between 35 and 44, has been renewed in a bid to pioneer a ‘smart suit’ category in the fashion industry,” the firm’s vice president Choi Hoon, who supervised the project, said during a launch event at the Hilton hotel in Seoul.
Inside a Rogatis suit jacket, the company added an extra pocket to store a smartphone. The suit also comes with a near-field communication-enabled tag, through which the company offers customers tailored mobile contents.

The tag was designed to resist heat in order to prevent damage from dry cleaning, the company added.
The company hopes that its new line of suits will help its trendsetting customers become more mobile and digitally connected.
“To develop smart solutions for men’s suits, the company collaborated with tech giants like Samsung Electronics and KT, the country’s top mobile carrier,” Choi said.
“Smart solutions will continue to be updated each season for our target smart customers who are seeking style, comfort and convenience at the same time.”
With these smart solutions, the company is hoping to lift sales of its Rogatis suits by 40 percent, from 70 billion won last year to 100 billion won ($94.8 million) by year-end.
