[Asian Games] Kim Ye-ji wins gold in women's single sculls rowing

Kim Ye-ji of South Korea took the gold medal in rowing in the women's single sculls event on Wednesday at the Asian Game.
Kim finished her 2-kilometer race in 8:46.52, 13.39 seconds faster than the silver medalist, Lee Ka Man of Hong Kong.
This is only the second rowing gold medal for South Korea at an Asiad. The race this year took place in Chungju Tangeum Lake Rowing Center in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, about 150 kilometers south of Seoul.
Kim trailed Lee by 2.75 seconds at the half-way point, but reached the 1,500m mark in 6:33.54, 4.43 seconds ahead of Lee. The South Korean then cruised to a comfortable victory.
There were more medals won for South Korea in rowing Wednesday.
The men's quadruple sculls team of Kim In-won, Kim Hwi-gwan, Lee Seon-soo and Choi Do-sub won the silver medal behind China. The quadruple sculls became an Asiad medal sport for the first time here.
Lee Hak-beom also claimed the silver in the lightweight men's single sculls, behind Lok Kwan Hoi of Hong Kong. (Yonhap)
