Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics predict a fast expansion of UHD TV demand, up to 12 million units this year from just 1.6 million last year.

Data from Display Search said Samsung ranked No. 1 in UHD TV sales in the first half by taking 21.6 percent of the market. Two Chinese companies ― Hisense and Skyworth ― followed with 16 percent and 13.6 percent, respectively.
