손호영 공식 입장, 졸피뎀 논란 "사고 이후 복용 중지"

그룹 god의 멤버 손호영이 졸피뎀 투약 혐의로 검찰 조사를 받과 관련해 소속사 측이 공식 입장을 밝혔다.

12일 손호영 소속사 MMO엔터테인먼트는 이와 관련 "손호영은 지난해 사고 이후 수면제를 복용하지 않았고 이에 대해 검찰 조사에 성실히 임했다"며 "가수 손호영은 지나난해 사고의 연장선상에서 지난 6월 30일 검찰 조사를 받았다. 1년 전 사고 이후에 수면제를 추가로 복용했는지 여부를 확인하는 자리였다"고 밝혔다.

이어 "손호영이 지난해 사고 당시 극단적인 생각으로 수면제를 복용했던 것은 이미 알려진 사실이다. 그러나 지난해 사고 이후에는 더 이상 수면제를 복용하지 않았으며 이는 최근 받은 약물 검사에서도 명확히 판명됐다"며 "손호영은 검찰 조사에 성실히 임한 뒤 현재 담담히 조사 결과를 기다리고 있다"고 덧붙였다.

손호영은 지난해 여자친구가 스스로 목숨을 끊은 사건 이후 괴로워하다가 졸피뎀을 복용, 해당 혐의로 지난 달 말경 검찰조사를 받은 것으로 알려졌다.

특히 손호영은 이날 오후 서울 송파구 잠실동 잠실주경기장 신문방송기자실에서 'god 15주년 기념 리유니온 콘서트(god 15th Anniversary Reunion Concert)'를 앞둔 기자회견에 참석해 이와 관련해 사과했다.

손호영은 "기사가 나가서 많은 분들에게 심려를 끼쳐드려서 죄송하게 생각하고 있다. 좋은 방향으로 잘 진행되고 있다"며 "좋은 날 god 공연에 대한 많은 좋은 질문 부탁드린다. 다시 한 번 심려를 끼쳐 죄송하다"고 전했다.

Prosecutor says singer questioned over sleeping drug

A singer, who attempted suicide last year, has been questioned over his alleged use of a drug widely used to treat insomnia, a prosecutor said Saturday, according to news reports.

Son Ho-young, a member of once popular boy band G.O.D., was called in by prosecutors in late June on charges that he took zolpidem, a common prescription medication that induces sleep, Yonhap News said.

The 34-year-old allegedly took the drug in May 2013 when he attempted to kill himself just days after the body of his girlfriend was found in his car along with an empty bottle of sleeping pills, a used briquette and a suicide note, the report said.

The prosecutor said no decision has been made yet on Son.

Son's management agency admitted that the singer took the insomnia drug in an apparent suicide attempt following the death of his girlfriend, but since then, he has never used the drug.

Son released a solo album in 2006 after G.O.D. became inactive. (From news reports)
