Park Yong-maan, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry, was elected an executive board member of the International Chamber of Commerce last Friday, KCCI said in a press release.
Park, who also leads Doosan Group as chairman, will serve on the board of the world’s largest business organization for the next three years from July 1.
Park is the only Korean among 20 executive board members and one of five Asian board members.
ICC board members, including Park, are expected to prioritize development of agendas, which will be proposed during the upcoming G20 summit, KCCI officials said.
The G20 summit, the world’s most influential economic forum consisting of 20 of the world’s largest economies, is scheduled to be held between Nov. 15-16 in Queensland, Australia.
