런던대학교에 따르면 86%가 딸기 먹는 것을 상상하는 것만으로 행복해지고 여유로워진다고 응답하였다. 독특한 딸기만의 향은 즐거웠던 기억을 떠오르게 만들기 때문이라고 한다.
이러한 이유 때문에 여러 회사들이 “딸기향”을 개발하려고 했으나 딸기만의 향을 재현하는 것이 어려워 다 실패했다 한다.
소리가 맛에 큰 영향을 준다는 연구결과도 나왔다. 딸기를 떠올리면 피크닉 등을 떠오르게 되지만 바나나 혹은 사과는 바쁜 상황에 먹는 스낵으로 인식되어 회사 소음이나 대중교통을 떠오르게 한다는 결과도 나왔다.
