Juice products guaranteeing detoxification effects appear to be gathering popularity as more people are taking an interest in living a healthier and longer life.

And it is widely catching on that one way of removing toxins is by cleansing the body with vegetables, fruits and nuts, and that juice is one of the most effective and efficient forms of this type of detox, experts say.

“We get a lot of customers coming in for detox juice ingredients. There is also a growing demand for ready-made detox juice,” a worker at Lotte Super, one of the country’s largest retailers, said.

Organica ― affiliated with Herald Corp. ― has recently released the “Just Juice 3-Day Total Cleanse” program with its carefully designed juice made with 20 different greens. The ingredients included in the six 450 milliliter bottles named “Green Up,” “Booster C,” “Skinny Line,” “Root Heart,” “Refresher,” and “A-Meal” not only wipe away toxins from the body but to also serve as meal substitutes.

The juices are extracted from celery, kale, spinach, cucumber, ginger, melon, orange, apple, yuzu, lemon, cayenne pepper, beet, red cabbage, tomato, carrot, water parsley, pear, almond, cinnamon, vanilla bean and honey.

“There is no sugar, coloring pigments or any other additives in the juice,” an Organica spokeswoman said. “We have also minimized the use of honey and fruits to lessen the sweetness. Therefore, having those six juices evenly a day will give you less than 1,000 calories per day,” she added.

The juice was also produced in a HACCP-accredited environment to guarantee both hygiene and quality.

“The greens in the juice will guarantee an instant cleansing effect within just three days,” the spokeswoman said. “But our biggest pride comes from the fact that the juice is completely gluten-free,” she said.

Gluten-free is the keyword in today’s weight-loss diets. Celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Miranda Kerr and others have openly praised the diet regime, which involves removing all gluten factors from their meal table.

JJ Virgin, a fitness and nutrition expert for TLC’s “Freaky Eaters” program, wrote in a Huffington Post article that while the effect of going gluten-free for a long period of time may have to be watched, there are seven instant reasons to curb gluten consumption. She mentioned that gluten is “the trigger of inflammation and insulin resistance; leptin resistance; leaky gut and its accompanying symptoms including fatigue and bloating; hamper thyroid performance; block nutrient absorption and most of all result in controllable craving for foods.”
