Gwangju Youth Network to hold swap shop for students
By Korea HeraldPublished : June 17, 2014 - 21:10
Gwangju Youth Network will host a swap shop for everyday items at Gwangju International Center on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will offer free items such as school supplies, winter clothing, kitchenware, small appliances and bedding.
The idea of the swap shop is to provide essentials for foreign students, who usually have to buy all their basic essentials when they move here, and to recycle the goods they might otherwise throw out when they leave. However, anyone may trade.
Item donations will also be accepted on the day. Leftover items will be held in reserve for incoming students in the fall.
The center will also host a free consultation session by Korea’s National Pension Service from 10 a.m. to noon on June 25.
Translations will be provided on the day and those seeking a consultation should bring their Alien Registration Cards or equivalent ID.
