A severe invasion of privacy led to the breakup of actor Chun Jung-myung and his girlfriend, celebrity news outlet TV Report said on Tuesday.
Chun, 34, was heartbroken to see his noncelebrity girlfriend come under the spotlight after a picture of the couple was made public on May 21, according to the report. The woman is 22, 12 years younger than the top drama actor.
“(She) split with Chun shortly after their relationship was revealed,” a source close to Chun told TV Report, repeatedly stressing that the young woman “is an ordinary, noncelebrity person.”
“Her photo was released against her will … and (she) was forced to go through many difficulties that ordinary people would find intolerable,” the source added.
Red Line Entertainment, Chun’s agency, confirmed the actor’s romantic relationship on May 22, a day after the picture was released. By that time, the couple had been dating for only a month and were not yet entirely determined about going out.
The source told TV Report that the woman “had her private life exposed with zero protection, with her personal profile and pictures revealed on some websites.” It must have been an excruciating experience for a noncelebrity young woman, the source said.
Chun and his ex-girlfriend allegedly have not been in contact.
In addition, several women who were mistakenly thought to be Chun’s girlfriends were also victimized by the exposure, according to the report.
