R&B singer Gummy is scheduled to release a new album and hold a solo concert in the coming months.
Gummy, whose real name is Park Ji-yeon, will release a new EP in early May and stage a concert in June, according to her agency C-Jes Entertainment on Tuesday.
The new EP will feature Gummy’s signature R&B style and explore various genres of music in line with the spring season, the agency said.
The new record will also mark Gummy’s return to the local music scene four years after the release of her last EP, “Loveless” in 2010.
“Given that it is now spring, I want to deliver music that is pleasant to listen to and lyrics that are easily relatable,” said Gummy in a press release.
“Given that I have not released a solo album in a while, I am working hard to bring out the best music I can,” she said.
Gummy debuted with her first studio album “Like Them” in 2003. Since then she has released hit singles such as “If You Come Back,” “We Should Have Been Friends” and “Please Forget Me,” and been featured on a number of featured soundtracks.
Gummy will showcase her new album in a concert at Ewha Womans University’s Samsung Hall on June 7.
