LG Uplus, Korea’s third-largest mobile carrier, said Wednesday that it has sealed a deal to provide consulting on Long Term Evolution operations to Taiwan Star Cellular Corp.
Under the agreement, LG Uplus will share some of its expertise with TSCC in setting up LTE network infrastructure, marketing, sales and 4G services.
The Korean telecom company will help TSCC adopt LG Uplus’ core technologies, including LTE for high-definition viewing, to offer quality high-speed network services in Taiwan.
TSCC, a latecomer in Taiwan’s telecom market, aims to achieve a market share of 16 percent by 2020 ― up from the current 7 percent ― by establishing LTE network systems in two years, according to LG Uplus.
