'배신' 애인 결혼식장 수류탄-9명 사망

캄보디아 중부지역의 한 결혼식장에 수류탄 이 날아들어 어린이 2명 등 모두 9명이 숨지고 30명이 부상했다고 현지 언론과 외신 들이 26일 보도했다.

이들 매체는 경찰을 인용, 전날 중부 캄퐁톰 주(州)에서 열린 결혼식 도중에 갑 자기 수류탄이 폭발했다고 전했다. 이날 수류탄 공격으로 신부가 다리를 다쳤으며 신랑도 손에 가벼운 상처를 입었다고 경찰은 밝혔다.

경찰은 결혼식을 올리던 여성의 옛 애인이 질투심에 하객들이 모인 결혼식장에 수류탄을 투척한 것으로 보고 범인을 쫓고 있다고 밝혔다.

지역 주민들은 신부가 결혼 전에 마을의 다른 청년과 사귄 적이 있다면서 삼각 관계가 이번 사건의 배경일 것이라고 말했다. (연합)

Grenade attack on Cambodia wedding kills nine

A grenade was lobbed at a wedding party in Cambodia, killing nine people and wounding 30 others including the bride and groom, officials said Sunday in an attack apparently carried out by a jealous lover.

Two children were among those killed in the attack, which happened late Saturday and is thought to have been carried out by a man who was in love with the bride-to-be.

The grenade was thrown as guests danced during the party in central Kampong Thom province, provincial military police chief Horng Thul told AFP by telephone.

"They were happily dancing when the grenade exploded," he said, adding that two girls, aged 7 and 14, were among the victims.

He said the bride suffered a broken thigh after she was hit by shrapnel while the groom was injured in his hand.

Police suspect the motive for the attack was a love triangle.

"We preliminarily suspect another man also loves the bride, and did not want the wedding to happen," Horng Thul said, adding the police were investigating the attack.

No one has been arrested yet, he added. (AFP)
