Former NBA star Dennis Rodman returned from North Korea on Monday, describing his latest trip to Pyongyang, where he met with the North's leader Kim Jong-un, as "amazing."
"It's amazing that I had an opportunity," the heavily tattooed Rodman told a throng of journalists at the Beijing airport, wrapping up his week-long trip to North Korea. "Marshal (Kim Jong-un) gave me this opportunity."
Asked how he felt about his fourth trip to the North in the past year, Rodman replied, "This is not a bad deal."
Rodman and a team of former NBA players held an exhibition game last week, marking the birthday of Kim, who is believed to be around 30.
The game drew mounting criticism in the United States when Rodman sang "Happy Birthday" to Kim.
Rodman, who has described Kim as his "friend for life," has been criticized for not using his personal friendship with Kim to seek the release of a detained American citizen, Kenneth Bae. (Yonhap News)
