North Korea will hold a major parliamentary election in March, the country's state news agency announced Wednesday.
"The Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly decided to hold an election of deputies to the 13th SPA on March 9," the Korean Central News Agency reported in a one-paragraph dispatch. DPRK is the acronym for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, North Korea's official name.
The current members of the SPA were elected in March 2009. (Yonhap News)
