Leeteuk, member of K-pop boy group Super Junior, mourned Tuesday the death of his father and grandparents after arriving at a hospital in Seoul where their funerals will be held.
His family members were found dead at his home in Sindaebang-dong, southwestern Seoul, on Monday morning. Police are investigating the cause of death while some media outlets have speculated that his father killed his parents and then committed suicide.
Leeteuk’s father has been reportedly had a difficult life while taking care of his elderly parents who suffered from dementia.
After hearing of the tragedy, the singer, who is currently serving military duty, rushed to the hospital. He is currently receiving visitors with his sister and preparing for the funerals.
Sources familiar with the situation said the singer’s father divorced his wife several years ago and has suffered from deep depression while supporting his parents by himself.
The police said they found what seemed to be a suicide note, which said, “I am taking them with me.”
