Bae Yong-joon’s new girlfriend revealed

Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon’s secret girlfriend is Koo So-hee, daughter of LS Industrial Systems Co.’s CEO, a local media outlet reported Tuesday, a day after the actor’s agency confirmed he was in a romantic relationship.

Koo So-hee, 27, is the second daughter of Koo Ja-kyun, the vice chairman and CEO of South Korea’s leading local provider of smart-grid solutions. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Syracuse University in New York and has a master’s degree from Korea University.

On Monday, Bae’s agency KEYEAST confirmed that the star had started a relationship three months ago but did not provide further details about the girlfriend saying: “She’s not a celebrity. “

Earlier in the day, Japanese media broke the story about Bae’s relationship and described the girlfriend as an attractive woman who is fluent in English, and the daughter of the CEO of a Korean conglomerate.

This is the first time Bae has gone public about a relationship since he broke up with movie director Lee Sa-kang in 2004.

According to Japanese sports tabloid Nikkan Sports, the couple was spotted attending the wedding reception of a mutual acquaintance in Saitama, Tokyo, on Dec. 1. They were also spotted dining and shopping together in the area after the event.

After debuting in 1994 as a KBS TV actor, the 41-year-old Bae has gained popularity in Asian countries, especially in Japan, since he starred in the hit Korean TV drama “Winter Sonata” in 2002.

In October, he received the grand prize and the best actor award at the Korean Entertainment 10th Anniversary Awards in Japan.
