The Sunfull Movement, which promotes a positive online culture, said Saturday that the total number of encouraging comments posted on its website topped 5 million on Dec. 9.
Sunfull is currently driving a campaign urging young students to leave encouraging messages on its online bulletin board in a bid to prevent school violence and help with their personal development. The number of postings exceeded 4 million in April.
The group plans to include parents and other members of the public across the country in the project in a bid to foster a sound culture of cyber space language.
The movement reported on its activities in 2013, including the comments campaign, and held an award ceremony in Sanghuh Hall of Konkuk University in Seoul on Saturday, with about 300 teachers and students attending.
It presented the Sunfull Organization Award to the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education. Zhou Yubo, Korea bureau chief of People’s Daily Online, received the Foreign Minister’s Award.
The Sunfull Movement was launched by professor Min Byoung-chul of Konkuk University in 2007.
