President Park Geun-hye donated a porcelain bowl to a charity bazaar held by the ruling Saenuri Party.
The party organized the event to help those in need and at the same time celebrate the first year of Kim’s term as president. She was elected president on Dec. 18, 2012.
The bowl that Park donated was used to hold quince fruits, according to a Saenuri official. It is brown, round and large enough for six or seven fruits. The piece was auctioned off.
The party held the bazaar on a yard in front of the Mini Mall behind the National Assembly building, starting at 10 a.m.
“The bazaar is an occasion to share the joy of the 2012 election victory and remind all the members of the party of the sense of resolution at the time of the election win,” party secretary general Hong Moon-jong said.
Saenuri lawmakers donated clothes, baby products, utensils, miscellaneous household goods, rice, provincial specialty foods, books and other items for the bazaar.
All proceeds will be given to charity groups, together with funds raised separately at the venue.
