Hyundai Motor said Friday that it agreed with Incheon Free Economic Zone and Incheon Development and Tourism Corp. to hold the largest-ever racing event in Korea, called the Brilliant Motor Festival, from next year through 2016.

The kickoff festival is scheduled to be held from May 16-18 near the international business district of Songdo in Incheon. It will feature an opening competition of the Korea Speed Festival, a large-scale K-pop concert and other racing programs for visitors.

Hyundai also plans to boast its latest technologies such as fuel-cell vehicles during the event, while displaying the i20 World Rally Championship car that represents the carmaker’s high-performance engine capacities.

“We will offer diverse programs for visitors to enjoy motorsport,” said a Hyundai official. “We will continue our efforts to pave the way for the nation’s racing culture to prosper.”
