Former U.S. envoy Stephens wins Korean-American frienship award

The Korean-American Association presented its 11th friendship award to former U.S. ambassador to Korea Kathleen Stephens Tuesday.
The award ceremony was held during the Korean-American Friendship Night at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel Tuesday.
Stephens was the U.S. ambassador to Korea from 2008 to 2011. She visited South Korea as a Peace Corps volunteer from 1975-1977, and speaks fluent Korean.
The association has hosted the friendship night since 2002.
