LIMA (AP) ― South Korean officials say that a government worker has died in a river accident in Peru.
South Korean Consul Lee Hwang-roh says 44-year-old Kim Yoon-ho was on a vessel that overturned Thursday on the Itaya river in Peru’s Amazon region. His body was taken to a morgue in the city of Iquitos in northern Peru. He worked for the South Korean ministry of oceans and fisheries.
Officials gave no further details on Friday.
