The amount of South Korean land owned by foreign nationals dropped slightly from three months earlier in the second quarter, the government said Wednesday.
The amount of land owned by foreign investors or companies came to 225.74 million square meters as of the end of June, down 0.42 percent from three months earlier, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The land owned by foreigners accounted for 0.2 percent of South Korea’s total area with the estimated value of the land owned by foreigners totaling 32.42 trillion won ($29.03 billion).
The amount of land owned by foreign investors or companies grew by a net 520,000 square meters while foreign-invested firms here purchased a net 140,000 square meters of land during the April-June period, the ministry said in a press release. (Yonhap News)
