The Seoul Metropolitan Government is accepting nominations for foreign residents to be named honorary citizens.
Nominees should have lived in Seoul for at least three years and have improved the status or economy of Seoul, helped enhance the quality of life and promoted cultural activities, or introduced cutting-edge technology. Important guests to Seoul are also eligible.
Candidates must be nominated by the head of a public organization, a civic group with more than 10 members or at least 10 Seoul citizens.
Nominators should send a recommendation form and a recent passport-sized photograph via mail or email. The form can be found in the “SGC News” section of global.seoul.go.kr, where addresses and other information are also available.
The successful candidates will be chosen in July, and given medals and certificates in a ceremony on Oct. 28.
