LG Electronics, the world’s second-largest TV maker, announced on Friday the resumption of its Intellectual Property School this year.
In an effort to produce more specialists in the IP field as competition for patents and other intellectual property is deepening among electronics makers, LG has held the annual five-month long courses on various subjects ranging from negotiation to litigation, licensing, IP analysis and patent laws since 2009.
This year, some 400 LG employees and affiliates specializing in intellectual property are registered to take part in the course, the Seoul-based company said.
“LG IP School will not only develop more global leaders in an evermore competitive IP field but also contribute to the creative economy drive,” said Lee Jung-hwan, vice president of LG Electronics’ patent center.
Some 20 lawyers and board directors with reputable backgrounds in the IP field were selected as lecturers.
The lectures will be given mostly in English at the LG Electronics’ patent center, located within the Seoul National University’s Research Park.
The courses are scheduled to run from June 20 until the end of November.
