시진핑 중국 국가주석과 버락 오바마 미국 대통령을 각각 만화영화 주인공 ‘푸우’와 ‘티거’에 비유한 사진이 중국판 트위터인 웨이보에 올랐다가 삭제됐다.

영국 BBC 방송은 시 주석과 오바마 대통령이 지난 7~8일 캘리포니아주 랜초미라지에서 정상회동을 갖고 함께 산책하는 모습과 푸우, 티거의 다정한 모습을 비교한 사진이 온라인상에서 큰 관심을 받고 있다고 12일 전했다.

한 누리꾼이 처음 올린 비교사진은 누리꾼들에게 큰 인기를 누리며 인터넷 상에 퍼졌다. 특히 중국내 파워블로거들이 그의 ‘창의성’에 감탄하며 해당 사진을 바로 퍼날라 더욱 이목이 집중됐다.

그러나 해당 웨이보는 11일 ‘대외공개 부적절’을 이유로 모두 삭제됐다. 중국 당국이 개입됐는지 여부는 확인된바 없다고 BBC는 밝혔다.

이에 최초로 사진을 올린 사용자는 “참으로 포용력도 없고 유머감각은 더욱이 찾아볼 수 없다”며 시나웨보 측에 불만의 멘션을 남겼다.

한편, 오바마와 시진핑은 이번달 7일부터 이틀간 캘리포니아 남부 서니랜드에서 회담을 가지고 각종 현안들을 논의했다. (코리아 헤럴드)

Picture likens Obama, Xi to ‘Winnie the Pooh’ characters

A picture that compares U.S. president Barak Obama and Chinese leader Xi Jinping with Disney’s cartoon characters Winnie the Pooh and Tigger went viral on the Chinese microblog Sina Weibo, British media reported on Wednesday.

The picture showing the leaders posing perfectly in sync with the animated characters was initially uploaded by a user and gained huge attention online as influential Chinese bloggers shared it.

But the website removed the picture for its “inappropriateness to go public.” It has not yet been confirmed whether the Chinese government intervened, media said.

The initial uploader then left the comment: “Weibo lacks magnanimity and a sense of humor.”

Obama and Xi had an informal summit talk from June 7 for two days at Sunnylands in southern California.
