"쇼미더머니2" (Mnet)

지난 7일 밤 11시 첫 방송된 Mnet의 힙합 오디션 프로그램 “쇼미더머니2”가 시작부터 많은 화제를 낳으면서 대한민국에 힙합 돌풍을 예고했다.

이날, 방송에서 2차 예선전을 벌인 참가자들은 국내 최고의 힙합 프로듀서 이현도와 힙합 그룹 가리온의래퍼 MC메타 앞에서 프리스타일 랩을 선보여야 했다. 두 프로듀서의 극명한 취향 차이가 극과 극의 심사 결과를 낳아 눈길을 끌기도 했다.

참가자 중에서도 가장 화제의 인물은 단연 래퍼 “스윙스”였다. 이미 언더그라운드에서 “괴물래퍼”라는 호평을 받고 있는 그는 이날 뛰어난 비트감과 함께 솔직한 가사의 랩으로 심사위원 이현도와 시청자들의 극찬을 받았으며 2AM의 임슬옹과 윤종신 등도 SNS를 통해 그에게 찬사를 보냈다.

스윙스는 8일 그의 트위터 계정을 통해 “모두 너무 내 편이다. 그냥 내가 알아서 잘할게요. 고맙습니다”라는 글로 감사 인사를 대신했다.

대한민국 음악계에 힘합돌풍을 예고하는 국내 유일무이 래퍼 서바이벌 “쇼미더머니2”는 매주 금요일 밤 11시 케이플 채널 Mnet을 통해 방송된다.

Audition program for rappers kicks off to a good start

Mnet’s hip-hop audition program “Show Me The Money 2” launched on Friday, casting renewed spotlight on South Korea’s talented rappers.

Its first episode showed contestants going through a preliminary round doing free-style in front of the country’s legendary rappers such as Lee Hyun-do and MC Meta, a member of hip-hop group Garion. 

Unlike the expectations that the program’s viewership would be limited to hip-hop followers, the contestants’ and the judges’ names swept the lists of the most searched keywords in major portal sites as soon as the first episode of the show aired.

One of the most talked-about figures, “Swings,” impressed not only the judges but also other contestants at the scene with his rhythmical and straightforward rap. Singer-songwriter Yoon Jong-shin also showed support for the rapper via his social networking site “The era of Swings has arrived.”

“(It) seems like everybody‘s on my side. I will do good on my own. Thank you everybody,” the rapper responded through his Twitter.

The audition program airs Friday nights at 11 p.m. on Mnet.
