Works of Korean contemporary artists are on exhibit in Hungary as part of a cultural promotion exhibition by the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea and the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary.

The exhibition, which runs from Tuesday to June 28 at the Korean Cultural Center in Budapest, introduces nine Korean artists who were chosen to show aspects of Korean society to the Hungarian audience.

According to the museum, the exhibition aims to show the artists’ different perspectives on modern Korean society. 

The participating artists are Park Seung-hoon, Keum Hye-won, Kim Min-ju, Kim Ji-min, Seo Min-jeong, Lee Yeon-sook, Jeon So-jeong, Cho So-hee and Cheon Dae-kwang, who have been part of the museum’s residency program.

The artists are presenting artworks that explore fundamental relationships between human beings and society and question their existence, the museum said.

“The exhibition title sends a hopeful message that the exhibition will be the foundation for future cultural exchanges between South Korea and Hungary,” said a museum official.

The title “Another Chain Bridge” is a reference to the bridge that connects the western and eastern sides of Budapest.

“It will be a great opportunity for the viewers to feel the collective energy of Korean contemporary art,” said the official.
