The five ladies of 4Minute will be returning this year with the release of the group’s upcoming EP album, titled “Name Is 4minute,” on Friday.

Although representatives of the girl’s agency Cube Entertainment had previously announced that the album would be unveiled on Thursday, it has been confirmed that the release will be pushed back a day due to the extra time needed to complete the lead track’s music video.

The album’s lead track, “What’s Your Name?,” is an upbeat electro-pop song produced by famed local hip-hop music producer and songwriter Brave Brothers, the one-man act who was also behind 4Minute member Hyuna’s 2012 solo single “Ice Cream.”

According to reports, Cube Entertainment agency officials said they hope to portray 4Minute as a representative K-pop group and are placing special focus on the visual and performance aspects of the upcoming music video, hence the delay in its release.

The five-track EP will mark 4Minute’s first production as a group since they released the single “Welcome to School” for the “School” drama original soundtrack in early December last year. 4Minute debuted in the summer of 2009 with its first single “Hot Issue” and released a string of other singles before introducing the group’s first full album, “4Minutes Left,” in 2011.

Since the group’s debut, member Hyuna has achieved much success in her solo career starting with her first solo single “Change,” which sold nearly 2.5 million copies, as well as appearing on Psy’s YouTube smash “Gangnam Style” music video that led to her spin-off single, “Oppa’s Just My Style.”

Earlier this year, 4Minute also debuted the group’s first subunit, 2Yoon, consisting of members Ji-yoon and Ga-yoon. The duo released their first EP “Harvest Moon,” a country-inspired dance album, in January.
