The Bulgarian Embassy’s commercial office here, partnering with a slew of groups including The Financial Times and the European Union, organized a two-day seminar on investing in Bulgaria at the Lotte Hotel, Wednesday and Thursday.

Bulgarian Ambassador to Korea Petar Andonov and Borislav Stefanov, executive director of Invest Bulgaria Agency, delivered keynote speeches on the opening day.

“Bulgaria has made substantial progress in creating a favorable investment climate,” organizers said in a press statement.

“Bulgaria is determined to realize its full potential as an attractive investment destination and one of the most competitive costs of labor in Central and Eastern Europe by leveraging its stable political and regulatory environment and tax regime,” they said.

The seminar brought together Bulgarian government ministers, senior policy makers, experts and entrepreneurs already investing in Bulgaria in round table discussions on Wednesday and formal conferences on Thursday. Delegates at the seminar talked about the region’s economic prospects, key areas of growth sectors and other emerging opportunities in one of Europe’s fastest growing countries.
