그룹 2PM의 일본 정규 2집 ‘레전드 오브 투피엠’(LEGEND OF 2PM)이 오리콘 차트 1위에 올랐다.

앨범은 발매 첫 날 29,454장의 판매고를 올리며 뜨거운 인기를 과시했다.

JYP는 “‘레전드 오브 투피엠’은 차트 2위 음반과 6배 이상의 판매량 차이를 보이며 2PM의 인기를 입증했다”고 밝혔다.

2PM의 두 번째 앨범 Legend of 2PM은 “Beautiful,” “Masquerade,” “If you are here,” “Forever”를 비롯 신곡 9곡을 더한 전곡 일본 곡 13곡이 수록된 혼신의 앨범이다.

2012년은 2PM이 일본에서 강세를 보인 한 해였다. 작년 발매한 싱글 ‘Beautiful’과 ‘Masquerade’는 두 싱글 모두 타워레코드 1위를 기록해, 두 앨범 연속으로 일본 레코드 협회 골드 인증을 수여, 타월 레코드 K-Pop Lovers Awards 2012에서 아티스트 부문에서 대상을 수상했다.

올해 국내 컴백도 계획 중인 2PM은 현재 일본 전국투어를 진행 중이다. 2PM은 지난 달 11일과 12일 일본 후쿠오카를 시작으로 2013 아레나 투어 ‘LEGEND OF 2PM’의 막을 열어 두 달간 일본 전국 6개 아레나 공연장에서 총 13회 콘서트를 통해 15만 일본 팬들과 함께 할 계획이다.

이들은 오는 4월20일과 21일 도쿄 돔 콘서트도 앞두고 있다.

‘Legend of 2PM’ lands first place on Oricon Chart

2PM’s second Japanese album, “Legend of 2PM” ranked first place on the Oricon Charts.

“Legend of 2PM has sold six times more copies than the album in second place on the Oricon Chart. The sales numbers prove their popularity,” said a representative from JYP, the group’s agency.

The second album contains 13 tracks in all with nine new tracks and four from their previously released singles including “Masquerade,” “Beautiful,” “If You are Here,” and “Forever.”

Last year was a breakthrough year for 2PM. The boy band scored major success, setting a new record at Tower Records for singles sales, and winning the Grand Prize for Tower Records Japan’s “K-pop Lovers Awards 2012.”

Meanwhile 2PM is on the 2013 Arena Tour where they are performing tracks from “Legend of 2PM.”

Some 20,000 people attended the Arena Tour held in Fukuoka on Jan. 11 and Jan. 12. The 13 concert, two- month tour is expected to mobilize 150,000 fans in Japan’s six Arena concert halls through Feb. 24.

2PM will also hold a concert at Tokyo Dome on April 20 and 21.
