A 3-year-old British girl has been allowed to join Mensa, a society for people with high IQs, becoming the club‘s youngest member, officials said.

Alice Amos has an IQ of 162 -- higher than those of Albert Einstein and Steven Hawking, both of whom had IQs of 160, The Sun reported.

“It is clear that she has the capacity to do almost whatever she wants in life,” said child expert Joan Freeman.

Alice achieved the high score in English, which is actually her second language, after Russian, which her parents speak in their home in Surrey, The Daily Star reported.

The 3-year-old girl is now one of 18 preschool members of Mensa and is in the top 1 percent of the population of the world.

영국의 3살 배기 여아 엘리스 아모스가 IQ 162로 최연소 멘사 (Mensa)회원으로 등극했다.

멘사는 일반 인구의 상위 2%에 드는 지적능력을 가진 사람만 가입할 수 있는 국제 단체다.  

지능검사 결과 엘리스는 IQ가 160이라고 알려진 알버트 아인슈타인과 스티븐 호킹스보다 높은 IQ 162를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 

“앨리스가 그녀의 삶에서 원하는 모든 것을 할 수 있는 능력이 있다는 것은 확실하다”고 아동 전문가 조안 프리맨이 말했다.

앨리스는 지능검사에서 영어부문에 가장 두각을 드러내며 높은 점수를 받았다. 러시아를 구사하는 부모 아래 태어난 앨리스에게 영어는 제 2 언어다.

앨리스는 이제 공식적으로 학교에 진학하지 않은 멘사 회원 18명 중 한 명이 됐으며, 지능은 전세계 상위 1% 안에 드는 것으로 나타났다.
