A guided tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace is now available at tourists’ fingertips with the release of a mobile application on the Joseon palace.
The application, developed by a Korean venture company, will make a tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace more fun and educational with quizzes provided to visitors at each spot and basic information about the buildings combined with episodes of famous period dramas such as “Moon Embracing the Sun.”
The app-guided tour is expected to take about an hour. The application also won the 2011 travel mobile application contest organized by the Korea Tourism Organization.
The service is available on Android smartphones in Korean. English and Japanese versions for foreign tourists will be released in the future.
