Google co-founder Sergey Brin was spotted on the New York subway wearing glasses-cum-smart device “Google Glass.”

U.S.-based IT magazine PC Magazine reported on Monday that Brin caught the eyes of citizens on the subway on Sunday.

A New York resident named Noah Zerkin posted a photo of Brin on Twitter spotting the Google co-founder.

Zerkin also posted a photo of himself wearing Brin’s Google Glass, adding that he couldn’t operate the device since mobile phone service was not available in New York’s subway station.

Google is planning to hold a series of developers’ events in San Francisco and New York on Jan. 28-29 and Feb. 1-2, respectively.

For the events, Google exclusively invited U.S. developers who bought the $1,500 “Google Glass” at last year’s Google developers’ meet.

글로벌 IT기업 구글의 공동창업자인 세르게이 브린이 안경 모양의 ‘입는 컴퓨터’인 ‘구글 글래스’를 착용하고 뉴욕 지하철에 등장해 화제다.

미국 IT잡지 피씨매거진(PC Magazine)은 21일 브린이 구글 글래스를 착용하고 나타나 지난 일요일 뉴욕 지하철에 있던 시민들의 이목을 사로잡았다고 보도했다.

노아 저킨이라는 한 뉴욕 시민은 현장에서 브린의 사진을 찍어 트위터에 올렸다.

저킨은 또한 브린의 구글 글래스를 빌려 착용한 자신의 사진을 올리면서, 뉴욕 지하철 내에서는 휴대전화 서비스가 사용 불가능해 장치를 구동해볼 수는 없었다며 아쉬운 소감을 더했다.

한편 구글은 일련의 개발자 행사를 이달 28-29일에는 샌프란시스코에서, 내달 1-2일에는 뉴욕에서 개최할 예정이다.

이 행사들에는 작년 개최된 구글 개발자 회의에서 구글 글래스를 1천5백 달러(약 1백60만원) 에 구입한 미국 개발자들만 초대받았다. (코리아헤럴드)
