Attempts to bring the hip-hop mogul 50 Cent to Korea have failed once again. With less than three weeks before the rapper was supposed put on a show, it has been announced that “50 Cent Live in Korea” has been cancelled.

Representatives from Smaf Production and Project K made the announcement on Thursday that both of the 50 Cent concerts in Seoul and Busan, which were originally scheduled to be held on Jan. 12 and 13, respectively, had been cancelled. It was reported that the concerts were to have coincided with the release of his fifth studio album, “Street King Immortal.”

“We wanted the concert dates to match up with the release of his new album, which was originally to be released in November, but then it was moved to January, and now it has been pushed again to Feb. 26,” the representatives said.

This is not the first time local 50 Cent fans have been disappointed. The hip-hop star does not have a good track record when it comes to committing to his tours in Korea. The artist had been scheduled to give performances back in 2006 and in 2008, but both of the concerts were cancelled as well.

The production agency representatives claim that they are trying to reschedule the tour for sometime in the beginning of next year. 50 Cent fans must continue to wait if they wish to see one of the biggest names in the hip-hop industry grace the stage in Korea for the first time.

Two months ago in October, hip-hop fans were also disappointed when the Dr. Dre concert that was originally supposed to take place in November was cancelled for the second time. The “Doctor’s Advocate Korea Tour,” which was to feature hip-hop artists the Game, Slaughterhouse, the Dogg Pound and E-40, had been cancelled due to scheduling issues. It was stated that the tour was to be postponed until January. However, no new announcements have been made.
