A female singer who recently participated in a popular British singing competition program “X Factor” admitted Wednesday that she had severely wounded her ex-boyfriend in June, local media reported.

Lucie Slater pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding of William Scott Aitken, and faces a maximum sentence of five years in jail. She had been previously charged with wounding with intent, of which the maximum penalty is life imprisonment.

The member of rising all-female singing group Quantro accepted the charges prior to her trial at Newcastle Crown Court later in the day.

Upon accepting the charges, Slater’s representative Peter Schofield requested that the curfew conditions on the singer be lifted so she can do night-time promotional work. It was accepted by the court on the condition that Slater stays away from Aitken and his workplace.

Slater’s actions had resulted in Quantro being disqualified from "X factor." The band, consisting of Hannah Gray, Carly Ahmad, Emily Dyson and Slater, had reached the boot camp stages of the competition by the time of the attack.

“We got fantastic comments from the judges and we are just heartbroken,” another band member Hannah Gray said at the time.

A spokesman for "X factor" said they decided to give the entire group the boot because Quantro had gotten too far into the audition for them to continue as a trio. He said they were allowed to re-audition next year for the show.

그녀의 그룹은 이로 인해 퇴출 조치를 당했는데, 멤버 한나 그레이는 당시 “심사위원들로부터 환상적인 평을 받았었는데, 너무나 가슴이 아프다”라고 안타까워했던 것으로 알려졌다.

X팩터 측은 슬레이터 뿐만 아니라 그룹 전체를 퇴출시키기로 한 결정에 대해, “(4인조로) 오랫동안 오디션을 봐왔기 때문에 이제 와서 3인조로 진행하기는 무리”라고 설명하고는 이들이 내년에 다시 오디션을 볼 수는 있을 것이라고 밝혔다.
