Local director Kim Jin-man’s animated film “Noodle Fish” won the top prize at the Asiana International Short Film Festival (AISFF) on Tuesday.
The film, which tells the story of a fish and its moving journey, won the Best Picture prize at the closing ceremony of ASIFF at Cinecube Gwanghwamun in central Seoul.
Kim, who studied sculpture and visual design at Hongik University, majored in multimedia and film at ChungAng University’s graduate school. He currently works for an animation studio.
Director and actor Yang Ik-june’s drama “Shibata & Nagao,” which captures a young man and woman talking to each other on various subjects, won the Best Korean Film award.
Yang is best known for his 2009 autobiographical film “Breathless.” He recently starred as a North Korean agent in director Yang Yong-hi’s “Our Homeland.”
Kosovan director Ujkan Hysaj’s war drama “Kolona” won the Best Foreign Film prize.
Celebrating its 10th edition this year, AISFF featured 82 films from 32 different countries from Nov. 1-6. The event drew some 4,200 viewers, according to its organizers.
