In a show of rapid demographic changes, Seoul has seen a steady rise in one-person households and a fall in multi-member households, municipal government data showed Sunday.

According to the data released by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the number of one-person households in the capital city increased more than 9 percent between 2007 and 2011, whereas the number of households with more than four members decreased by nearly 4.5 percent in the same period.

The number of one-person households in Seoul jumped 9.1 percent from 1.38 million in 2007 to 1.52 million last year, while the number of two-person households and three-person households also grew 8.2 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively, during the same period.

But the number of four-person households decreased 4.3 percent from 892,202 in 2007 to 853,744 in 2011, it noted.

As of the end of last year, Seoul's households with one or two members accounted for 54.76 percent of the total of 4.19 million. (Yonhap News)

서울 홀로 사는 1인 가구 9% 증가 

2인 가구도 8.2% 증가…市, 내년 1~2인가구 대책 수립

지난 2007년부터 2011년 사이 서울시내에서 홀로 사는 1인 가구가 9% 이상 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 반면 가족 4명 이상이 모여 사는 가구는 4.5% 감소했다.

28일 서울시의 '연도별 가구원 유형별 현황' 자료에 따르면 시내 1인 가구는 20 07년 138만4천921가구에서 지난해 151만800가구로 4년새 9.1%(12만5천879가구) 증가 했다.

2인 가구도 2007년 72만5천592가구에서 지난해 78만5천146가구로 8.2% 늘었다.

3인 가구는 2007년 76만985가구에서 지난해 77만5천276가구로 1.8% 증가했다.

반면 4인 가구는 2007년 89만2천202가구에서 지난해 85만3천744가구로 4.3% 감소했으며, 5인 이상 가구도 2007년 28만2천386가구에서 지난해 26만7천786가구로 5.1% 줄었다.

지난해 기준 시내 1∼2인 가구는 전체 419만2천752가구의 54.76%에 달한다.

시 관계자는 "연령대별로 가치관과 생활방식이 다른 점을 고려해 1인 가구의 특 성을 반영한 주택단지(social mix housing) 조성도 중장기적으로 검토할 예정"이라 고 말했다.

시는 1∼2인 가구 등 소형가구 증가 대책으로 2007년부터 최근 5년간 일반건축 허가에 의해 연평균 2만8천189호를 공급해왔다. 또 소규모 정비사업 등으로는 2007 년부터 연평균 2만1천965호를 공급했다.

시 관계자는 "일반건축허가나 소규모 정비사업에 의한 주택 공급 중 대부분은 85㎡ 이하 소형 규모라서 1∼2인 가구를 위해 적합한 주택"이라고 설명했다.

시는 연령•성별•직업 등 다양한 요인에 따라 원하는 주택형태가 다를 수 있다 는 점을 고려해 2013년에는 1∼2인 가구의 주거욕구와 주택수요를 파악한 학술용역을 실시해 중장기적인 대책을 마련할 계획이다.
