RICHLANDS, Australia (UPI) -- An Australian teenager faces an attempted murder charge after she allegedly gave two brothers brownies doused with household cleaners.

The mother of the two boys, ages 12 and 13, said one of them realized immediately after biting into a brownie that something was wrong with it, The Courier-Mail of Brisbane reported. Neither suffered any ill effects.

The 14-year-old girl who made the brownies was arrested Sunday and released on bail the next day. She faces charges that including poisoning with attempt to harm and attempted maiming as well as attempted murder.

The children are all neighbors in Richlands in the Brisbane area. The brownies were ostensibly offered as an attempt to make peace after the girl teased the two brothers, investigators said.

The brownies were allegedly given a shot of products used to clean toilet bowls and windows, investigators said. The boys‘ mother described the smell as “very strong.”

The family put up a sign on their garage door after the girl’s arrest: “The boys are OK. Thank you for your concern. We are unable to comment.”

피해자 가족은 소녀가 체포된 후 "아이들은 괜찮습니다. 걱정해줘서 고맙습니다만 지금은 답변을 드릴 수 없습니다"라는 푯말을 집 문에 붙여놨다.
