An 8-year-old British boy is in trouble with the police for cooking a neighbor’s cat.

The boy’s neighbors came downstairs to find that the boy had started cooking their cat in their microwave. Shocked, the cat’s owners rushed the cat to a charity facility for treatment.

The cat’s internal organs may be permanently damaged.

A UK animal welfare charity RSPCA has started an investigation to find out more about the case.

The charity’s senior prosecutions case manager Terry Stroud, stated: “This is a clearly shocking incident.”

“It‘s one the RSPCA feels needs to be investigated by the appropriate authorities to find out why this happened and to work to prevent this kind of cruelty happening again.”

The boy is too young to be brought to trial, but the Youth Offending Team at Medway Police Station and social services have been alerted.

8세 소년의 고양이 학대, '경악'


영국 켄트 지방의 로체스터에 사는 8세 소년이 옆집 고양이를 ‘요리’해버려 동물 학대 혐의를 받고 있다.

고양이의 주인은 아래층으로 내려오다 옆집 소년이 자신의 고양이를 전자레인지에 넣고 조리 버튼을 누르는 것을 목격했다. 충격을 받은 주인은 ‘병든 동물들을 위한 진료소(Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals)’로 달려가 치료를 요청했다.

그러나 고양이의 내장 기관은 영구적으로 손상된 것으로 전해졌다.

영국동물보호협회는 진상 조사를 심화하기로 했다.

영국동물보호협회 고발 사례 관리자 테리 스트라우드는 “너무나 충격적인 사건”이라고 일침을 놓았다.

그는 “영국동물보호협회는 이 사건에 대해 적절한 당국의 조사가 절실히 필요하다고 생각하며, 앞으로 이 같은 사건이 재발하지 않도록 해야 한다”고 덧붙였다.

재판에 서기에는 소년의 나이가 너무 어리지만, 미드웨이 경찰서의 소년 범죄 대책팀은 바짝 긴장하고 있다.
