The Korea Herald, the country’s top English-language newspaper in offline and online circulation, launched Tuesday a new application for Android smartphones.

The app offers the e-paper, real-time news and English education content including video lectures by popular English teacher Lee Bo-young. The app also features translations of selected Korea Herald articles and audio narration.

Potential subscribers can avail themselves of a free trial before purchase.

The app, created using the latest HTML5, is an innovative way for those pressed for time to study English anytime, anywhere.

In 2010, The Korea Herald began providing news content for Samsung Electronics’ e-book reader and Galaxy Tab. Last year, an app for iPhone was introduced targeting college students, business people and foreign readers interested in Korea.

The app can be downloaded at Google Play and T-Store and is priced at 4,000 won a month.

It is also available for foreigners who have often faced problems downloading other apps.
