The museum announced a tour on April 27 to 29 during which participants have to be completely naked, according to BBC and other news reports.

The tour is a performance led by Melbourne artist Stuart Ringholt, aiming to address “themes of fear and embarrassment” of humans.

Nevertheless, being naked is not the sole feature of the event.

MCA says being nude gives visitorsa new perspective of the museum exhibition, inviting art lovers to “remove material barriers between artist and audience,” literally.

The “nude tour” has already taken place at Tasmania‘s Museum of Old and New Art and Melbourne’s Australian Center for Contemporary Art. These tours took place outside of the standard opening hours to avoid outsiders peeking in.

This is not the first time Ringholt touched on the issue of embarrassment. In one of his pieces titled “Embarrassment,” he puts himself in humiliating situations like walking in public with toilet paper hanging from his pants.
