‘Doomsday preppers,’ luxurious underground havens built deep under the Kansas prairie, have been sold to four buyers for a total of about $7 million so far, the Daily Mail reported.

The luxury flats located within 3-meter-thick walls of abandoned missile silos stretching 53 meters underground consist of 14 underground floors, seven of which are condos. The rest of the floors will accommodate a pool, movie theater and a library. In a lockdown mode, there will be floors for a medical center and a school.

An indoor farm that will generate enough vegetables and fish for 70 and five years worth of dry food storage is also being developed, according to developer Larry Hall.

Hall explains that with the increasing threats people face such as economic collapse, terrorist attacks, pandemics and natural disasters, there is a need to create a safe society in which people can survive the chaos in comfort.

So far, three-and-a-half units have been sold for $2 million a floor or $1 million a half floor, with two contracts pending.
