Badminton star Lee Yong-dae is auctioning a signed T-shirt online for charity.
The T-shirt is being auctioned on eBay to raise money for SOLIBAD. The sports charity raises funds with the help of the badminton community to support projects, some badminton related, to help improve people’s lives around the world.

Lee gave the T-shirt to the charity during the last French Open Super Series, which he won in the men’s doubles. The 2008 Olympic badminton champion also made a personal donation of 10 million won ($8,900) to Solibad in January. The auction will run until April 10 at 8 p.m. Pacific Time.
It is the first auction in what is to become a regular event with top stars pledging to give away their Olympic shirts after the competition. Taufik Hidayat’s racket or Lee Chong Wei’s racket and shirt will be among the next items to go on sale in future months.
“We are delighted that so many top players are helping out in this new action we are doing,” said SOLIBAD founder Raphael Sachetat. “The fact that it is a regular auction process will probably get more and more promotion all over the world and we hope that we can gather enough money through these auctions to start new projects.”
