His memoir sheds light on the sexual desires and wildest fantasies of movie stars like Montgomery Clift, Cary Grant, Spencer Tracy and Vivien Leigh. The former Marine writes he even set up Katherine Hepburn with 150 different women.

“I knew Hollywood as no one else knew it,” he writes in the preface of the book.

Bowers said he agreed to speak because most of his “clients” have passed away.

“I’ve kept silent all these years because I didn’t want to hurt any of these people,” he told the New York Times. “And I never saw the fascination. So they liked sex how they liked it. Who cares?”

His clients were not limited to film stars. In perhaps the most incredible revelation, Bowers alleges he provided services for the Duke of Windsor and his wife Wallis by sharing a bed with the royal couple.

He had refrained from revealing details of his work as high-profile match-maker because he wanted to “respect the privacy of those whose lives have intersected” with his life. But he says he had a change of heart because he was “not getting any younger.”

Bower’s shocking recollection drew mixed reactions from readers. While some praised the “juicy, bizarre, often very surprising gossip,” others denounced him for lacking credibility.

“I doubt seriously that Katharine Hepburn asked a gas jockey to fix her up with young women,” wrote a incredulous reader at Amazon.com. “If it’s all true, why didn’t you say it when they were alive?”
